Finance Awards Wales 2025: Enaid Accountancy Shortlisted

About the Finance Awards Wales 2025
The team at Enaid is thrilled to be shortlisted for the Independent Accounting Practice category of this year’s Finance Awards Wales. Celebrating the finance professionals of Wales, the awards will announce the winners of each category on Friday 16 May 2025 at the Mercure Holland House Hotel in Cardiff.
Sponsored by ACCA, the Independent Accounting Practice category will recognise the firm demonstrating how the services it has provided have been fundamental in enabling their clients to achieve their business goals as well as being able to highlight the appreciation by clients, its contribution to the business community, and recognition received from other firms.
Why Enaid Accountancy Stands Out
At Enaid we pride ourselves on being the financial experts for charities and third sector entities across Wales and the UK. 2024 was a pivotal year for us as we rebranded from Andy Nash Accounting and Consultancy to Enaid Accountancy – Enaid meaning soul when translated from Welsh.
As a proud Wales-based company, we wanted a brand name that not only incapsulated our location, but also a single word that described our team’s ethos; we put our heart and soul into helping charities and third-sector entities do better, and Enaid ticked that box for us.
We were blown away by the support our clients across the UK gave us for this award submission, truly showing an independent charity specialist from Barry can have national impact.
Client Testimonials: What Our Clients Say
Here are some we received:
Collaboration & Expertise in the Charity Sector
Susannah Forland, CEO, Cosmic. Which is a charity supporting families in PICU and NICU at St Mary’s and Queen Charlotte’s Hospitals in London said:
“Cosmic has recently embarked on a valuable partnership with Enaid Accountancy, which has been defined by collaboration, mutual support, and a focus on achieving the highest standards. Enaid’s team has demonstrated exceptional knowledge and professionalism, playing a pivotal role in developing and streamlining Cosmic’s infrastructure. Their expertise has significantly enhanced our CRM systems, reporting frameworks, and accountancy processes, providing a robust foundation for future growth and operational efficiency.”
Supporting Charities with Financial Management
Louise Wilson, CEO, of H&F Giving which is a grant-making charity in Hammersmith and Fulham, London said:
“We would highly recommend working with Andy and the team at Enaid. Outsourcing our finance function to Enaid has been amazing for us as a busy charity freeing up time for us to spend on other essential work to impact our local community as we can trust that our finances are in good hands. As well as getting the nuts and bolts of our day-to-day financial management, our bookkeeping is looked after and ensures our management accounts are out in a timely manner that supports our Trustees’ requirements. The opportunity to sense-check with ad hoc questions with experts has been hugely beneficial and helps us have the confidence that we are making sound financial decisions internally. The fact that they truly understand the challenges and opportunities faced by smaller-medium sized charities like ours and are experts in charity finance, means that we benefit from learnings across the charity landscape as we work with them. The team are quick to respond and a pleasure to work with.”
Reliable, Responsive, and Knowledgeable
James Davies, Chief Executive of Planning Aid Wales, said:
“We found Enaid Accountancy after moving around for a few years between competent but non-communicative accountancy firms. Andy Nash offered a consultation meeting where he was friendly, engaging and evidently knew what he was talking about, particularly when I asked questions about charity-related matters. We’ve been enormously satisfied with their service, and I know my team can get answers to our questions whenever we need it. I can’t see us moving firms again any time soon.”
Tailored Support for Unique Business Models
Sensai Phill Sedgmond, South Wales Martial Arts Academy/Barry Kyokushin Karate Club said:
“Being new to business and running a unique business model, we found it difficult to get our previous accountants to understand what we needed, and it ended up costing us dearly. We were recommended to try Andy Nash and Enaid Accountancy and in one brief meeting, we felt that he fully understood our needs and business model. Now with almost a year under Enaid Accountancy, we have nothing but full faith in their abilities and professionalism. We have a thriving business, and all our accountancy needs are fully met with very little hassle. The team at Enaid really know their customers’ needs and has flawlessly looked after us. I’m looking forward to many years of working with them.”
We also love receiving recommendations from other firms who are not charity specialists, and whose clients need support on charity-specific issues.
Recognised by Industry Experts
One firm that regularly recommends clients to us is Dux Advisory (formerly Haines Watts Berkhamsted) in Hertfordshire. Managing Director Shaun Brownsmith, said:
“We have worked alongside Andy and the team at Enaid Accountancy for over five years with us witnessing first-hand the quality of their work and their in-depth knowledge of the charity sector. We have whole-heartedly referred a number of our charity clients to them for a variety of services knowing that they are in safe and knowledgeable hands. We also provide audit services for a number of their clients and the quality of their work is of the highest standard meaning their clients can rest assured of a smooth audit process.”
Looking Forward to the Award Ceremony
We would be delighted if we were announced as the independent accounting firm of the year because we know our impact on charities and not-for-profits across not just Wales but across the UK is a testament to this, and all the clients we spoke to fully supported our application for this award. Diolch/thank you to all of our wonderful clients and particularly to the chief executives of busy charities who took time out to support this application with such glowing testimonials.
